The other day, I was just humming a popular track, the loongi anthem…disco mein jab ye ganna bajega, on the floor aana padega, loongi ko uthana padega...step kar k dhikhana padega…and my mother who was listening to my crazy droning was in all smiles. And she rolled her eyes and was like…"beta kya ga rhi ho? Kitne illogical ganne banate hai ajkal log? Batao disco mein loongi pehen k kaun jata hai??" My laughter was irresistible. That was just a specimen. Yeah, she had pointed out correct! And I never pointed out that despite hearing the song hundreds of times and grooving to it. How oblivious are we? This oblivion is everywhere around us. There are many incidences likewise which urges us to stop and think the uncomfortable truths that we ignore every day. There are many illogical happenings around. Alas, we ignore them! Or even if we get to know about it we tch -tch a little, plan to clear out the odds, it takes a full swing and then its over…… the momentum which its start catches dries up in the middle and towards the end it’s all gone! God knows where? We just get carried away!
Our generation is ignorant of sensibilities. Yeah, it’s common to hear from folks. But the question is ..ARE WE? Are we are very much occupied with our headphones and smartphones? Are our lives are all around the plasma screens and social networks? Is it what makes us ignore and forget many small things which are of magnitude? Well, we must look for an answer sometime. We are living in dangerous times where anything just ignored can be fatal. Be it your shoelaces or the threats of not returning home in one piece, which our days offer us.And kaan khol ke soonna… its always not about an illogical lyrics that we go on buzzing around carelessly. Ask yourself and you will come up with the illogical things that surround you and you just continue with it. Stop..! give yourself a pause, don’t get insensitive. There are things to be done and ends to be met. The days of our times breed possibilities if we don’t just ignore them. Who can change the lyrics this hit loongi number..but you and I can change the illogical fishy things around if we are aware enough not to get carried away!!
